The Freetrade Stocks & Shares ISA allows investors to choose their own investments in individual shares, ETFs, mutual funds, commodities, and money market funds, offering fractional shares – meaning you don't have to buy whole units, making it more affordable to invest. You're also able to select pre-built portfolios.

As this is a flexible ISA, you can withdraw and redeposit in the same tax year without affecting your annual ISA limit.

Uninvested cash held within the account can earn 1.00% (AER) interest, though should not be used as an alternative to a bank because it is an investment product.

In-specie transfers are supported, meaning you can transfer your portfolio from another investment platform – or to another platform – as long as the same assets are available on both.

Freetrade ranks joint-1st by Fi Fee for small investors (£10,000 portfolios), and holds the same ranking for large portfolios (balances of £500,000) too. To invest, you only need a minimum lump sum deposit of £1. They charge 0.99% as an FX fee for investments in foreign currencies.

You can now use a Stocks and Shares ISA with Freetrade's free Basic plan. You also get access to the full range of commission-free stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and gilts. SIPP features

Employer contributionsDoes this SIPP allow contributions from your employer? No

Director depositsDoes this SIPP allow company directors to deposit company funds? No

DrawdownDoes this SIPP support drawdown? No

Freetrade's SIPP provides access to invest with your own investment decisions and ready-made portfolios. You can invest into company shares, ETFs, mutual funds, commodities, and MMFs (money market funds).

Investors can transfer their investments in-specie, meaning their portfolio can be moved to or from another platform without being converted to cash first.

Fractional shares are supported, meaning it's possible to invest every penny you deposit. You aren't required to buy whole units of each investment.

When it comes to a pension offering, this SIPP doesn't include the features the average person tends to be looking for: drawdown isn't supported, limited company directors can't deposit via their business, and employers can't deposit into their employee's SIPP either.

Freetrade's SIPP ranks joint-1st by Fi Fee for small investors, and holds the same ranking for bigger investors too. They charge 0.99% as an FX fee for investments in foreign currencies.

You can now use a SIPP with Freetrade's free Basic plan. You also get access to the full range of commission-free stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and gilts. However, if you want to access a lower FX fee or higher interest on cash, you'll need Freetrade's Standard plan (£59.88/year or £5.99/month) or Plus (£119.88/year or £9.99/month).
