The Fidelity Stocks & Shares ISA allows investors to choose their own investments in individual shares, ETFs, mutual funds, commodities, and money market funds. You're also able to select pre-built portfolios or opt for a professionally-managed option.

The account doesn't offer fractional shares – you must buy whole units of investments, making it harder to get your full deposit into the market.

This isn’t a flexible ISA, meaning you can’t withdraw and redeposit in the same tax year without negatively affecting your annual ISA limit. If you deposited £10,000, withdrew and then redeposited, your entire £20,000 ISA allowance would be used up.

Uninvested cash held within the account can earn 2.70% (AER) interest, though this is an investment product – it should not be used like a bank, your funds may not be protected in the same way.

In-specie transfers are supported, meaning you can transfer your portfolio from another investment platform – or to another platform – as long as the same assets are available on both.

Fidelity ranks 28th by Fi Fee for small investors (£10,000 portfolios), but fare much better at 21st for large portfolios (balances of £500,000). To invest, you’ll need a minimum lump sum deposit of £1,000 or an ongoing monthly investment of at least £25. They charge 0.75% as an FX fee for investments in foreign currencies.

Fidelity's SIPP provides access to invest with your own investment decisions, pre-built portfolios, and professionally-managed portfolios. You can invest into individual shares, ETFs (exchange-traded funds), mutual funds, commodities, and MMFs (money market funds).

Investors can transfer their investments in-specie, meaning their portfolio can be moved to or from another platform without being converted to cash first.

Fractional shares aren't supported, meaning you can only buy whole units of each investment.

When it comes to a pension offering, this SIPP covers most of the major features you’d be looking for: drawdown is supported (you can start withdrawing your pension in retirement), company directors can deposit via their business, and employers can deposit into their employee’s SIPPs too.
